Mysterious and beautiful, Arnhem Land is a vast area more than 4 times the size of Kakadu National Park. Inhabited by about 18,000 Aboriginal people and largely untouched by tourism development, the home of the world's oldest living culture has only recently become accessible to a tightly restricted number of visitors.

This region is famous world wide for its awesome galleries of rock art, some of which possibly date back 60,000 years. Your private guide will escort you to some of the best sites including Long Tom Dreaming at Injalak, one of the finest rock art sites in the world. An aboriginal guide will explain the historical and cultural significance associated with each site. You will have the opportunity to purchase authentic Aboriginal artwork direct from the artists.
Experience the unique wetland areas that are host to an astonishing array of bird, animal and marine life. Photograph the myriad of birdlife that inhabits the floodplain. Cruise through billabongs and paperbark swamps where the Jacana (or Jesus bird) walks the waters on an aquatic forest of lily pads.

A lifetime of visiting and living in places such as Kakadu and Arnhem Land has allowed Brendan to form and maintain close relationships with many of the areas locals and traditional owners.

BRENDAN BAINBRIDGE owner operator of Venture North.
Brendan is a Territorian, who has spent his life growing up and living in many different areas of the Northern Territory.
Due to his fathers involvement in the early days, in the Department of Primary Industry as a remote area cattle inspector and his mothers dedication to aboriginal education through out the Katherine and Arnhemland regions, Brendan travelled, lived, met and made long time friendships with many Traditional Owners and residents in Aboriginal communities.
As a child Brendan would regularly visit Kakadu, long before it was a National Park. Through Brendan's up bringing he gained an understanding and respect for Aboriginal people and their culture and a love of nature and the bush.
After studying Parks and Wildlife Management, Brendan moved into tourism. Brendan operates 4WD camping safaris to remote areas, and has been granted a concession by the Traditional owners to operate safaris to Gurig National Marine Park and Victoria Settlement.Through out the years Brendan has led Special Interest groups, Family holidays, Hiking and Team Building expeditions, filming expeditions for Channel Nine, The Bulletin magazine and numerous international companies filming documentaries.
